3J’s key personnel completed wastewater systems, water distribution, and stormwater pipe design for a 55-acre redevelopment in Eugene, Oregon. The project included: Over 1.5 miles of 8” to 10” sanitary sewer piping within the public roadways to serve the new community, over 2.3 miles of public water mains ranging from 8-in to 12-in in diameter, approximately 1.8 miles of stormwater pipe design.

The Eugene Water and Electric Board (EWEB) selected 3J to design the public water system. This was the first time a private consultant had been authorized to provide engineering and development of contract documents for a public water system within the EWEB jurisdiction. This project involved significant resource permitting, design, and construction of 1.7 miles of public roadways.

The public stormwater improvements included the expansion of two sub-regional detention and infiltration facilities and surface treatment swales within large open space drain to natural low areas. One of these was determined to be waters of the state by the Division of State Lands (DSL) and required a joint permit from the Corps and DSL.
