Second Street Improvements

Lake Oswego, OR

A ‘green street’ design approach enhances the pedestrian environment along Second Street between A Avenue and B Avenue in downtown Lake Oswego.

About this Project

Part of Lake Oswego’s East End Redevelopment Plan, the project reconstructed a deteriorating roadway and enhanced the downtown business environment. Pedestrian pathways, vehicle circulation, and parking were improved, and the aesthetic character of the street was enhanced. Modified stormwater catch basins were installed along the steep street to direct water into the planters. Wider sidewalks with ADA accessible ramps, decorative streetlights and furniture, landscaping, and sitting areas create a more attractive and welcoming environment for shoppers and visitors. All improvements were designed to blend with the character of downtown Lake Oswego. Greenworks designed the project.
