Playfields, natural areas, and a boat ramp create a dynamic 66-acre park along the Willamette River.
North Riverfront Park is a multi-phase project that has created a 66-acre park along the Willamette River. A 12-acre multi-use parcel within the Urban Growth Boundary of Independence was also developed adjacent to the park. Since the site is in a large flood plain, the majority of the park is composed of play fields, trails, and natural areas. One of the first phases of park development added a public boat ramp and vehicular access and parking. The current phase of development is adding seven full-size soccer fields. An 8th field that can be used for overflow parking will augment a 400-stall parking lot.
