North Plains ADA Ramp Inspections

The City of North Plains approached 3J for assistance with inspecting and tracking ADA ramps throughout the City. As part of this process, our GIS team developed a custom app in-house to log inspections and track the status of inspected ramps. Utilizing ODOT standardized ramp inspection processes, 3J’s certified field inspector and civil design staff carried out comprehensive surveys of ADA ramps within the city. 3J’s ADA inspection application streamlined the collection of measurements, location data, and pictures. GIS data was regularly uploaded and provided real-time monitoring of inspected ramps. Over 400 ramps were successfully completed and cataloged in a more efficient timeframe than standard practices. Our team is currently developing an online dashboard to allow viewing of the collected data and to assist the city in prioritizing ramps and intersections by severity of failing criteria. The collection process auto-generated standardized ADA inspection forms, allowing for easy submittal to the city.
