Milwaukie High School

3J provided land use planning services for the demolition of one of the oldest buildings within the City of Milwaukie. Milwaukie’s storied High School required replacement after efforts to modernize the building proved to be cost prohibitive. 3J’s land use planning team lead an architectural and engineering team through a historic review of the existing structure, an emotional demolition discussion, and through a Community Service Use Application to enable the construction of a new modern facility for Milwaukie’s High School students. The Application included the creation of a village of 44 transportable classrooms and administrative modular buildings on the site’s existing athletic fields while construction of the new building was completed.
