Laura Oxsen, PE Receives AWWA Subsection Activity Award

Congratulations to Laura Oxsen, PE, who was awarded an American Water Works Association (AWWA) Subsection Activity Award at the 2024 Pacific Northwest Section (PNWS) AWWA conference! The PNWS-AWWA gives out awards and scholarships annually at the Spring Conference to recognize the outstanding efforts of individuals and organizations. This award honors individuals who have done an exceptional job promoting Subsection activities and provides an example of involved participation in the local Subsection and the water works industry.

The Northwest Oregon (NWOR) Subsection President nominated Laura last year stating:

“Over the past five years (Laura) has provided superb service to the drinking water community. (Her) involvement and interactions will make PNWS a more engaged group for years to come.”

The nomination highlighted Laura’s tenure on the NWOR Subsection board from 2017 to 2022 and noted that she served an extra year due to the pandemic. She was also recognized for never having missed a subsection meeting.

It’s no surprise that Laura was recognized as an outstanding individual in an organization. Over the past eight years, Laura’s career has grown from civil designer to project engineer and training & development lead. She is a skilled engineer and an engaging leader. Laura has taken the lead on new initiatives at 3J including our infamous Deck the Walls holiday decorating competition and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Great job, Laura!
