John Howorth Begins Transportation-Focused Role at Local Nonprofit Organization

3J President John Howorth, PE, is the new chair of Westside Economic Alliance’s (WEA) Transportation Committee. As chair, John will lead and coordinate the organization’s monthly Transportation Committee meetings. He will work with WEA’s staff to develop meeting topics, covering city, county, state, and federal transportation projects that impact the region’s economy. John will facilitate discussions about funding initiatives, policy making, and project updates. Continuing the public and private collaboration is something John looks forward to in his new role on WEA’s Transportation Committee. He will collect committee members’ input and advise the WEA’s Board on transportation policies, including those involving the region’s infrastructure. Overall, the WEA Transportation Committee works towards an inclusive transportation system that is multimodal and includes the needs of commuters and freight services.

WEA is a nonprofit, member-based organization that advocates for a healthy economic environment on the Westside of the Portland, Oregon metropolitan region. 3J has been a member of WEA since 2014.

"WEA has been a valuable resource for 3J. It’s our go to organization for connecting with people in the region and learning about current events around land use, transportation, housing, and government affairs.” - John Howorth
