3J Consulting is pleased to welcome Catherine Green to the team! In her role as GIS Technician, she will be responsible for coordinating with co-workers, project team members, and clients on GIS-related activities.
Catherine has spent the past few years developing her GIS expertise after obtaining a GIS Certificate from Portland Community College. She worked as a GIS consultant with the Confederated Tribes of Coos Bay, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians to create maps for their updated Forest Management Plan, and most recently she was the Project Coordinator for the GIS-Mapping Exchange at Portland State University. Prior to this, Catherine worked in the nonprofit sector for 15 years. Catherine holds an M.A. in Geography and a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Urban Planning from California State University East Bay.
Catherine is a founding member of the Portland-Area Women in GIS, and a Board Member of the ORURISA Emerging Professionals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, going on long hikes (rain or shine), flatwater kayaking, engaging in amateur astronomy, reading, seeing live music and theater, visiting museums, and attending film festivals.
