3J Receives National Recognition for Marketing Campaign

3J Consulting’s marketing team earned national recognition for their creative approach to holiday gifting. The Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) announced the winners of their 2024 Marketing Communications Awards (MCA) program in July. The MCA Program is the longest-standing, most prestigious awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications produced by professional services firms in the design and building industries. 3J received a Merit Award, as a top 5 finalist for the “Holiday – Mixed Media” category.

The award-winning effort transformed 3J’s annual holiday gift into an engaging whodunnit game set in a fictional version of 3J’s office. Recipients were invited to solve the mystery alongside a cast of Clue-inspired characters based on 3J’s services, with clues cleverly hidden throughout the various gifts (or “pieces of evidence”) in the box. The innovative concept went beyond traditional corporate gifting, fostering collaboration and even inspiring many of our clients to host game nights with their teams to solve the mystery together.

According to the SMPS Director of Member Recognition and Programs, this category was one of the largest and toughest categories this year. The four other firms that received awards in this category were large national firms with offices in 10+ cities across the country. We’re proud that the efforts of our small marketing team were able to measure up to and compete with the efforts of much larger firms! Our marketing team consistently delivers amazing work , but they really went above and beyond with our 2023 Holiday Gift. We’re proud to see their hard work get recognized on a national stage.

Clients were presented with a captivating challenge –3J’s annual holiday competition was being sabotaged, and we needed their help to unveil the culprit.

The mystery unfolded through a series of clues hidden in our branded merchandise dubbed “pieces of evidence”, and clients were presented with six fictional suspects and even a cipher to decode!

The recipients were tasked with deciding who they thought the culprit was based on the evidence!

Recipients submitted their answers online, and received a video from 3J’s president telling them whether they got it correct.

We hoped that this gift would be a fun way to bring joy to our closest clients and partners. What we didn't expect was how excited this gift would make their teams!

Many of our clients organized office game nights so they could work together to solve the mystery. It was such a treat to see our clients coming together over our holiday gift.

Congratulations Brittney, Kelly, and Jasmyne!
