3J Consulting is pleased to welcome Violet Brown to the team! As Senior Planner, her duties will include project management support, leading client communications, facilitating meetings, preparing and delivering reports, memos, applications, and presentations, and coordinating deliverables and scheduling.
Violet was a Project Manager at Fregonese Associates for almost 8 years where she worked on projects that ranged in scale from small area/neighborhood plans to regional and comprehensive planning. Prior to that, Violet was a public interest attorney and housing advocate for low-income New Yorkers. Her dedication to community development and almost a decade of experience representing at-risk tenants in housing courts in Brooklyn and Los Angeles have instilled in her a deep respect for the profound impact urban planning decisions can have on communities. Violet has a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from Portland State University, a law degree from New York University’s School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Louisiana State University.
Violet’s rural Louisiana roots shine through when she’s cooking Cajun food and passionately following all things LSU sports. In her spare time, Violet enjoys gardening with her partner and their daughter, taking long daily walks with her 3-year-old Labrador, and also reading and writing fiction for fun. She hopes to be published someday!
