Senior Civil Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Civil Engineer to support a variety of multi-disciplinary public and private projects. These may include transportation, utility, school, commercial, residential, renewable energy, and other site/land development efforts.

In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, calculations, and technical reports across all phases of project development. This includes work related to site drainage and pipe sizing, water and sanitary sewer systems, grading, street design, erosion control, and permitting. You will also coordinate with clients, contractors, industry partners, and jurisdictions. Construction administration duties may include site visits, meetings, and inspections.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in project delivery, training junior staff, reviewing project documents for quality and technical accuracy, supporting internal teams as a technical expert, and at times supervising others to meet project goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon, or the ability to obtain registration within six months
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a combination of equivalent training and experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, design, and/or construction supervision of public works, commercial, transportation, stormwater, or subdivision projects

 

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong technical capabilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with design standards used by jurisdictions and agencies in the Portland metro and/or SW Washington areas
  • Understanding of the land use entitlement process
  • Washington PE license
  • Experience using Vehicle Tracking, AutoTURN, ArcGIS, and Bluebeam
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL)
  • Experience designing and implementing Low Impact Development (LID) features in public and private projects

Compensation

$108,000-$130,000/year depending on experience
