Civil Engineer

Job Summary

In this role, you will work with a team under a Manager or Principal on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects. These may include transportation, utilities, schools, commercial and residential developments, renewable energy projects, and other site/land development efforts. Responsibilities include preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules. You’ll also prepare calculations and reports related to site drainage and pipe sizing, water and sanitary sewer systems, site grading, street design, erosion control, and permitting. You will communicate with reviewing agencies and track permits, requirements, and schedules throughout each project phase. This position also includes construction administration duties such as site visits, construction coordination meetings, and inspections.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon or ability to obtain within six months
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 4+ years related experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with internal staff, consultants, and clients
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Desired Experience, Skills, and Registrations

  • Familiarity with design standards used by jurisdictions and agencies in the Portland metro area
  • Understanding of the land use entitlement process
  • Washington PE license
  • Experience using Vehicle Tracking, ArcGIS, and Bluebeam
  • Certified Erosion & Sediment Control Lead (CESCL)
  • Experience designing and implementing Low Impact Development (LID) features in both public and private projects

Salary Range

$80,000-$102,000+ depending on experience. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for a Senior Civil Engineer position, with compensation up to $120,000+
