Civil Engineer

Job Summary

In this role, you will work directly for a Team Leader, Project Manager, or Principal on various projects. Duties will include preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and permit applications for projects. You will coordinate and communicate directly with reviewing agencies and track permits, requirements, and schedules as the project progresses. You will also be expected to perform construction administration duties including site visits, construction coordination meetings, and inspections.

Desired Qualifications

  • Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon or ability to obtain within six months
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 4+ years experience in the planning, design and/or construction supervision of public works, commercial, transportation, storm water management, or subdivision projects
  • Clear understanding of design standards for various jurisdictions and agencies in the Portland metro area, including but not limited to Washington County, Clackamas County, PBOT, and/or ODOT

 

  • Experience in the land use entitlement process
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Sound technical capabilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work on large projects in a team atmosphere requiring coordination with in-office team members as well as outside consultants and clients
  • Clear oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs to perform other design tasks
  • Desire to work hard and produce high-quality designs

 

Desired Experience, Skills, and Registrations

  • Washington PE
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Infraworks
  • Experience with implementing Low Impact Development (LID) features on public and private projects

Salary Range

$73,000-$100,000 depending on experience
