THPRD Maintenance Yard/Timbers Training Facility

Beaverton, OR

A unique public/private partnership creates a local practice facility for Portland’s new MLS team and a high end community amenity.

About this Project

This multi-use redevelopment renovated a 90,000 SF building and paired a practice facility and natural grass field for the Portland Timbers with a public synthetic soccer field and a yard for THPRD’s maintenance fleet. 3J designed solutions for grading, drainage, erosion control, site layout, water design, and sanitary sewers. The team provided floodplain balancing, wetland mitigation, and stormwater quality retrofits to overcome the constraints of a location within the 100-year floodplain. A new bioswale and retrofitted plumbing systems to treat water from the building roof, parking areas, and playfields. The facility now supports both public and private uses efficiently and at a reduced cost for both.
