Civil Engineering Civil Engineer (Transportation)

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work directly for a Team Leader, Project Manager, or Principal on various projects. Duties will include preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and permit applications for projects. You will coordinate and communicate directly with reviewing agencies and track all permits, requirements, and schedules as the project progresses. You will also be expected to perform construction administration duties including site visits, construction coordination meetings, and inspections.

Qualifications

  • Registered Civil Engineer in the State of Oregon.
  • 5 years design experience in the planning, design and/or construction supervision of public works projects
  • Clear understanding of design standards for various jurisdictions and agencies in the Portland metro area, including but not limited to Washington County, Clackamas County, PBOT, or ODOT.
  • Sound technical capabilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Clear oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs to perform other design tasks.
  • Desire to work hard and produce high quality designs.

Desired experience, skills, and registrations

  • Washington PE
  • A diverse background with design experience within Washington County, Clackamas County, PBOT, or ODOT
  • Experience with local agencies is desired, but not required.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Infraworks
